Everyone you see practicing in any yoga studio balancing on their hands or positioning themselves in the bendiest of shapes were at one time, a first time yogi. Many of them probably couldn’t touch their toes at first!

But something moved them to investigate yoga further – whether it was too much stress, needing to lose weight, mending a broken heart, perhaps seeking a new beginning. Or simply, curiosity about all the fuss surrounding this practice.

And that’s all it takes—a simple step to commit to just TRY it and see how it fits your body. Once you are done with this two hour intensive, we hope you feel more comfortable and confident on your mats and at Trax Yoga.

Some things we’ll cover:

*Tips for brand new Yogis
*Basic yoga poses
*Vinyasa and Sun Salutations
*What yoga is and isn’t
*Benefits of Yoga
*Q & A session

First Friday at TRAX-Cold Fire by Sam Miller & The Potters Guild
Nov 2 @ 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

November First Friday at TRAX Outdoor Center will liven your senses and fill your stein! Art by the young, talented Samantha Miller and beautiful ceramic wares crafted by The Fairbanks Potter’s Guild will be exhibited in the TRAX studio from 5-8pm November 2nd. TRAX is proud to bring you live music by the Sourdough Rizers, great eats from Friar Tuck’s Hoagie House and Sweet Cheeks as well as HooDoo on tap!

Samantha Miller was born and raised in Fairbanks, delving into art a very young age and teaching herself how to draw and use a plethora of mediums including oils and watercolors. She enjoys working with wood cradled panels, sheet music and canvas as a backdrop. Inspired by her surroundings, as well as music books and interesting people, her original design ideas evolve over time to manifest in physical form.

The Fairbanks Potters Guild is a community organization formed in 1996 to promote the ceramic arts and support the work of potters in the Fairbanks, Alaska area. Artists such as Yoriko Freed, Doug Sims, Barbara Travis, Frances Schulz and ceramics from Morel Pottery will display their creative and functional wares.
