FAQ’s

Below are some of our most frequently asked questions. Feel free to contact one of our team members if your question wasn’t answered here.

I am new to yoga. Which classes are beginner friendly?

Welcome Beginners! Though you’re welcome to attend any/all of our classes, please first try our Foundational Flow and Restorative classes which are best suited for someone brand new to yoga. We also encourage you to attend our 2-hour Beginner’s Workshops taught monthly. Check out the “Schedule” tab for the next date/time.

We strongly suggest you take between five to 10 yoga classes before you attend a Power Flow class.

Our fitness classes can be modified for all levels (unless otherwise noted). In all our classes, we encourage our students to do what you can, rest when you need to, and start again when your body is ready.

Do I need to make a reservation to attend a class?

Reservations are not required for classes on our Class Schedule – you’re welcome to drop in for any class. On the day of your first class, please arrive 10-15 minutes early to sign in and create your account in our online scheduling system, and get settled. You can also create your account ahead of time by clicking here to save time. If you are interested in any of our workshops, we highly recommend registering early as some have limited class sizes.

How long is each class?

Most of our classes are an hour long, but check the online schedule.

What do I need to bring?

If you have a yoga mat, please bring it with you to class. Most people prefer to have their own yoga mat for hygienic reasons. However, if you do not have a mat, we carry lululemon mats in our store.

For our fitness classes, check the Class Description for recommended gear. Most of them require clean, inside athletic shoes to get the most out of your workout and to prevent slipping.

What should I wear?

Choose active wear that is comfortable, with modest coverage that will not reveal too much. You won’t want to constantly tug at your clothes during class. Stretchable cotton-blend tank tops or tees that hug the torso work well for both men and women. Avoid tops with loose necklines or collars.

Yoga pants with an elastic waist and conform to the body’s shape are best. Capri-style yoga pants are also popular for both men and women. Many men wear board shorts, the kind surfers wear to the beach, as they are long enough for full coverage while allowing full range of motion.

Any etiquette rules I should follow?

Please avoid smoking before class or wearing perfume or scented lotions, creams, oils, or sprays, as some people are sensitive or allergic to certain scents.

Yoga is typically practiced with bare feet. Please remove your shoes when you enter the studio to help keep the floors clean for everyone. You can place your shoes and personal items in the storage area inside the studio.

Please remember to silence your cell phone by turning it off or putting it in airplane mode. Putting the phone on vibrate is not enough because everyone can hear the phone vibrate during class.

Is there anything else I need to bring?

Maybe a bottle of water, a smile, and an attitude that is open to learning and having fun!

Try not to take yourself too seriously. We were all beginners at one time, so give yourself a few classes to find a comfortable confidence with this new way of movement. You’ll eventually (most likely, sooner than later) begin to feel right at home, learning and growing with each class you take.
