Yoga for Beginners: an online one-month yoga program

From the comfort and convenience of your own home, spend this month with Trax Yoga instructor, Pipps, as she leads you through all the basics of yoga!
Starting on Sunday, October 4th, you will meet three times a week in the online Facebook group designated below.
Pipps will give lectures, share resources, instruct yoga poses, and answer all your questions throughout this program, fully preparing you to be comfortable and confident with your yoga practice whether at home or in a public studio.

A gentle and relaxing Yin class that works deeply into the connective tissues and joints of the hips, pelvis, and spine. Focus is on restoring flexibility and/or working deeply into joints and tissues that are “locked up” from past injuries or from repetitive motion.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This series provides an ideal complement to your summer training and indoor/outdoor sports activities. These five classes will help your body become more connected, responsive, and healthy through focused asana practice.

The daily vinyasa flows will be centered around various muscle groups serving ALL LEVELS and TYPES of athletes, helping you to find better body awareness and a stronger mind-body connection, as well as physical and mental strength and flexibility.

Class will begin in Yin, with students holding passive floor poses for up to 5 minutes to target the connective tissue while the body is cold so that the muscles don’t “eat up” all the stretch.

The Flow sequence to follow will gently build on the increased range of motion initiated by the Yin poses leaving students feeling balanced and refreshed.

Dory will lead you through three RESTORE classes, a sweet and calming practice with some flow elements, yet soft and gentle with emphasis on stretching and opening body, and two BARRE classes, a ballet-inspired practice where isometric movements are performed (holding your body still while you contract specific muscles) until you shake and feel the burn!
