First Fridays are back at TRAX! Live music, amazing art and good eats! October will feature three of Fairbanks fine artists. “OCTOber” by Arya Zale will show her beautiful ocean paintings with a percentage of sales going to Hurricane disaster relief. Hannah Foss, a graphic artist will display some of her promotional art with an emphasis on Alaska wildlife. Some of her pieces include the HooDoo moose and the Chamber of Commerce sun wolf. Lisa Peter from Tundra Walker studios will show an array of her paintings and watercolors. Most of us have seen and admired her colorful artwork at the Farmer’s Market.

$35 for this two-day workshop

Saturday, August 26: noon to 1:30
Sunday, August 27: noon to 1:30

Everyone you see practicing in any yoga studio, or posting their poses on social media, or doing headstands in the park, were at one time, a first time yogi. Many of them probably couldn’t touch their toes at first!

But something moved them to investigate yoga further – whether it was too much stress, needing to lose weight, mending a broken heart, perhaps seeking a new beginning. Or simply, curiosity about all the fuss surrounding this practice.

And that’s all it takes—a simple step to commit to just TRY it and see how it fits your body. Once you are done with this two-day workshop you will feel right at home on your mat and at Trax Yoga!

Some things we’ll cover:

Yoga etiquette tips
Basic yoga poses
What yoga is and isn’t
