Daralyn is a long time Fairbanksan (since 1974) who is currently retired form school counseling and P.E. teacher for FNSBSD. She has been teaching both Jazzercise and Yoga for a least 20 years. She received her 200 hr. YTC in Ashtanga Yoga with Bryan Kest in San Monica California in 2001. Since then, Daralyn has been teaching yoga for UAF, Infinite Yoga, Trax, Heartstream Yoga and Karmakanic Yoga (her own yoga business at the Jazzercise studio) in Fairbanks.
She currently lives part time on the Big Island of Hawaii where she teaches informally at her home, at Kalae orchid greenhouse, and Discovery Harbor community center.
Since receiving her certification she has taken many classes and incorporates many aspects of Kundalini and other yoga styles into her Ashtanga style. Plus there is an emphasis on core similar to a pilates style class to heat and strengthen the core, which enhances the solar plexus and, in turn, gives the yoga practice the most efficient heated approach. And, of course, Daralyn includes the yoga philosophy of healing the emotion and physical through deep connections with breath and love of life!
